Frequently Asked Questions

At Salon Naturale, we specialize in Blonde Hair, Ombrè, Sombrè, Color Melting, Color Correction, Contemporary Color, Dimensional Color, Fashion Colors, Foil Work, Standard Hair Coloring and MORE! We take classes quarterly so that we can remain up to date on our color techniques and we are always excited to learn!

We have a masterful understanding of the color wheel which allows us the freedom to create hundreds of different tones. If you are searching for a stylist who can finally understand your blonde goals, then look no further than the team at Salon Naturale!!

Today, the biggest trend is Balayage. Balayage, pronounced “Bah – Ley – Age,” consists of hand painting highlights onto the hair. The result is a natural and organic look. Although Balayage isn’t meant to look perfect, it always leaves the hair looking impeccable!

SHOULD I ARRIVE EARLY? WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE FOR MY RESERVATION?

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your reservation. This gives you time to check in, enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine, get comfortable, and enjoy your consultation. Guests who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be guaranteed their full service.

For example a guest arriving 15-30 minutes late may not get to receive a blow out or wash. We do our best, but we must stay on schedule for all who have reserved time. If you are running a few minutes late, we understand; things happen! Always plan on arriving 10-15 minutes before so you can enjoy a full and relaxing experience!

WHAT SHOULD I DISCLOSE IN MY CONSULTATION?

The consultation is the most critical part of your service. Your stylist wants to deliver unforgettable and amazing results every single time they do your hair; in order to achieve this, your stylist needs to know everything. The most important part of any relationship is COMMUNICATION, and we want to be sure that we are on the same page with you at all times. If you have questions or concerns, please feel comfortable sharing with us your feelings and expectations and we will be sure to do the same! We want you to feel comfortable with us. We never take anything personally and strive to deliver the results you desire within reason. What you should share with your stylist includes but is not limited to: if you regularly come in contact with well water, regular swimming in chlorine, past major chemical services, the presence of chemical relaxers or perms, BOX COLOR, medication, allergies, previous bleaching services, keratin treatments or products, at home treatments, your current product regimen, things you love about your hair, and/or things you wish you could change about your hair.

HOW MUCH WILL MY HAIR COST?

Prices are based upon education, experience, and demand; we have different levels of stylists and each stylist has different pricing. The prices posted on our website are BASE prices and are subject to change based on length, thickness, and condition of hair. We are very fair and work very hard to deliver your beauty goals. With that being said, we have to charge accordingly for long, thick, curly, or unruly hair. In order to save time and money, we recommend arriving to your service with clean, dry, straight hair (especially if you have extra curly or unruly hair). The longer it takes for us to complete the service, the more expensive it tends to get. At Salon Naturale, we work with all budgets and are happy to help you figure out a hairstyle and maintenance plan that is affordable for you. We understand being on a budget and offer promotions for referrals as well; feel free to ask your stylist about these promotions! We strive to deliver a high end experience that can be enjoyed by guests with all budgets!

CAN I COME WITH WET HAIR?

If you are enjoying a haircut experience and wish to arrive with your hair washed, you are more than welcome to arrive with wet hair. Guests who arrive with wet hair for a color service may be charged for an additional blow-drying. Color needs to be applied on clean, dry hair, we don’t mind drying you, but additional time and charges may be applied.

WHAT FACTORS GO INTO PRICING?

Many factors go into pricing for our services. For starters, in the beauty industry, we sell our time. All prices are mainly based on how long each service takes; this is why a full highlight is more of an investment than a half head of highlights or a root touch up. Another factor that affects pricing is education, experience, and demand. Length, density, and condition of hair also play a huge role in pricing. Clients with long, thick, unruly hair take more time to apply color and even style than clients with fine, straight hair. These decisions are made during the consultation; if you have specific questions about pricing, be sure to ask your stylist so they can provide a clear communication of expectations and budget restrictions. Also, arriving with clean, dry, straight hair may make your service slightly quicker, cutting down the time it takes to perform the service.

I AM A NEW CUSTOMER, WHY CAN’T I GET AN EXACT QUOTE OVER THE PHONE?

Our base pricing is always a starting, quoted price; we would love to be able to give you a price over the phone, but we would have to be able to see your hair in order to give you a more accurate price. Call to book a consultation and we will be happy to quote you a price.

WHAT IF I HAVE BOX COLOR IN MY HAIR?

Box color is a very tricky factor added to the color service. You must always disclose the presence of box color for the safety of your hair! We change our entire formulation based on if there is box color in the hair. When box color is present in the hair, it is automatically charged as a color correction. The reason we do this is so that we don’t have to charge you for every bowl of color we use. Box color usually calls for additional treatments, toners, and other services that can add up. Each stylist has an hourly correction rate that varies based on their level. Box color takes control away from the hairdresser and diminishes all predictability we usually have with professional hair color. For this reason, we must charge based on time. Color corrections and extreme makeovers usually take 2-3 sessions. During your consultation, your stylist will be honest and realistic when determining the right path to take in achieving your goals!

WHAT SHAMPOO DO I USE? DOES SHAMPOO REALLY MATTER?

Shampoo is a critical factor when it comes to color maintenance! Our hair color is guaranteed for 6 weeks when you use the recommended shampoo and conditioner. We can’t guarantee your color result if you aren’t using a recommended color protective shampoo and conditioner. When you shampoo your hair, the hot water and difference in pH of your shampoo open your hair cuticles (where color and proteins are stored) and cleans out the inner parts of your hair. When you use harsh, cheap shampoos that are full of additives, sulfates, and fillers, the color washes out and fades 30% after your first shampoo!

IS MY STYLIST "SELLING" PRODUCTS TO ME JUST TO MAKE CASH FOR THEMSELVES?

At Salon Naturale, when we recommend products and services that we believe in and you as clients will benefit from. We have no hidden agenda; we will never pressure you or make you feel like you are being forced to buy anything. We want you to achieve your hair goals. With that being said, we don’t “sell products” we sell solutions to hair problems! If you share with us the notion that you hate your frizz or that you love that extra volume, we will show you how to achieve these results!

WHAT IF I HAVE TIME CONSTRAINTS?

If possible, share time constraints when booking your appointment so we can adjust accordingly. Also be sure to share these constraints with your stylist so they can adjust their timing as well.

SHOULD I PREBOOK MY SERVICES?

We recommend prebooking your next two appointments to ensure your desired day and time.

MY STYLIST AND I DIDN’T CLICK, NOW WHAT?

At Salon Naturale we celebrate being a team; this means we don’t get upset seeing you in someone else’s chair. We encourage each guest to try different stylists and enjoy all of the talent our team has to offer. No stylist is a master of all; we all specialize in different services and enjoy variety just as much as you do! If you find that you are not clicking with your stylist or if you just want to switch it up, feel free to reserve time with someone else! Each team member goes through a 6-9 month apprenticeship and skill certification so you can rest assured that you are in good hands. Staying within the salon also gives you peace of mind; your formulas are in our database, we know your history, and it is much safer and more comforting being with those who know your hair. We embrace change and encourage you to switch it up from time to time! After all, variety is the spice of life!

DO YOU ACCEPT TIPS? HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP MY STYLIST?

We appreciate gratuities and are flattered when you spoil us. Tipping in a salon is typically the same as restaurants. 10% for decent service, 15% for good service 20% for exceptional service 25% for going above & beyond.
